About me

Personal

Personal I am a local gal, born in Seattle and raised in Puyallup, the city of the Western Washington Fair. I still “Do the Puyallup”, though miss the rodeo and horse races of the old grandstand shows. I am close to my family and am fortunate to have them living here in the Seattle/Puyallup area. I spend a lot of time with them, including my mom, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Community Service is another important part of my life. I enjoy being involved in the newly rejuvenated Rainier Beach Community Club, and have served as a Board Member for the Rainier Chamber of Commerce and the Southeast Seattle Senior Foundation, which owns and manages the Brighton Apartments for Seniors in the Rainier Valley. I am a music nut, getting in my singing fix every week with my church choir and Columbia City Chorus. My husband and I are constantly working on our house, originally built in 1906, and we own 5 acres northwest of Port Angeles, where we camp in our 1967 Fireball Travel Trailer.

Professional

I have been a full time real estate agent since 1979, after graduating from the UW in 1976. I cut my teeth as a new agent in a market with 18% interest rates – geesh, good timing, right? But these early experiences taught me to look hard for solutions and be creative. As a result, I am rarely rattled by obstacles in real estate transactions. I obtained my Broker’s License in 1988 and have never looked back. The favorite part of my business is the relationships that I have built with all my clients and other professionals. These relationships are important to me and tend to grow and survive long after the real estate transactions are closed.

How I Work

You will find my manner straight forward and authentic. Real estate transactions require intense focus and involve a significant investment of time and emotions. I honor the trust my clients place in me and work carefully to guide them through the process in a professional manner, always protecting their best interests. I usually represent only one party in any given transaction, either the Buyer or the Seller, not both. This allows my clients to be confident that my loyalties are clear. If I think a conflict of interest exists, or that there is a person that can provide you better assistance, I quickly help you find the best representation available. My career is built on referrals and repeat business. Enduring relationships are never sacrificed for the sake of any monetary compensation that may or may not materialize from any given interaction.

Fan Mail

“This is the 3rd transaction that we’ve worked with Dorothy on. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy/sell real estate and we would urge them to listen to her advice.” – Jeff and Vicky Whiting.

“It was the personal contact by Dorothy Driver that impressed us. We had interviewed 2 other agencies, but Dorothy’s visit gave us the confidence in Windermere we needed to make a decision.” – Jean Bridges

“A Windermere agent in the north end referred us to Dorothy. She did an amazing amount of work to pull our sale and purchase together. We hope if we ever move again we’ll find Dorothy still selling real estate!” -Peter and Ann Simonson
